SPRINGFIELD, MO – The Springfield Sports Commission is excited to announce the return of the 2026 USA Archery Target Nationals and U.S. Open to Springfield, Missouri, Aug. 12-15, at Betty & Bobby Allison Sports Town. The event marks the second consecutive year the city has hosted one of the nation’s premier archery competitions.

The four-day competition will once again welcome archers from across the country to compete in outdoor target archery. The event features Senior and 50+ divisions in recurve, compound and barebow, as well as senior para archers, bringing together elite competitors and aspiring athletes.

New for 2026, the event will also host the USA Archery USAT Series Final on Wednesday, Aug. 12, adding another level of competition to the event schedule.

“This year, not only do we have our Target Nationals and U.S. Open, but also the inaugural USAT Series Final, bringing together the top 48 archers in barebow, compound and recurve,” said Mary Emmons, Interim CEO of USA Archery. “Archers and fans can see some of the best archers in the world at Betty & Bobby Allison Sports Town. There will be Olympic medalists, world champions, continental champions and world record holders, and the best part is, it’s all free to watch. This really is a great opportunity to see leading U.S. archers who will be going for gold at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.”

Approximately 650 athletes are expected to compete, generating an estimated $1.14 million in economic impact for the Springfield area.

“Hosting the USA Archery Target Nationals and U.S. Open for a second consecutive year reinforces Springfield’s reputation as a premier destination for competitive sporting events,” said Stan Adams, Interim Executive Director of the Greater Springfield Area Sports Commission. “Events like this showcase the strength of our facilities, our community partnerships and the economic impact that sports tourism brings to the region.”

“We are looking forward to welcoming USA Archery back to Sports Town for a great week of archery,” said Chris Martin, General Manager of Allison Sports Town. “We are thrilled to have archers from all over the United States and abroad competing at Allison Sports Town. Thanks to the Springfield Sports Commission for their partnership and leadership in making this event a reality!”

The event reflects the continued partnership between USA Archery, the Greater Springfield Area Sports Commission, and Allison Sports Town to bring national sporting events to Springfield.

Overall estimated economic impact is calculated using the Destinations International Event Impact Calculator and past event history.
