Online voting is underway to select recipients of the 1 Awards presented by the Springfield Sports Commission and KY3, Inc., sponsored by Elliott Lodging.
The third annual 1 Awards, set for July 28 at Ramada Oasis Convention Center, will honor area students and teams from the previous year in the KY3 33-county viewing area by recognizing the best athlete and teams in various categories along with a number of specialty awards.
A unique feature of the 1 Awards is fans, athletes and communities have a say in choosing the “1” through the voting process.
Four nominees are chosen in each category based on a combination of honors, statistics, team success, individual performance and citizenship.
Fans may vote for their choice at www.OzarksSportsZone.com and can vote one time per day until July 21.
Winners will be announced at the awards event July 28, which includes a social hour with food beginning at 6 p.m. and ceremony at 7 p.m. About 450 students and parents attended the event in 2014.
